Zack grew up admiring the entrepreneurial successes of both his parents and grandparents. From furniture stores to electrical contracting, he is inspired by the history of small business success in his family. Zack founded Northmont with the goal of continuing the tradition of small business ownership in his family.
Zack’s career started in the investment bank at Credit Suisse in both Toronto and Calgary where he focused on advising businesses in a variety of industries on mergers and acquisitions. He then moved to New York to work as the Director of Corporate Development at MDC Partners, completing the sourcing, acquisition and integration of six small businesses.
Before completing his MBA, Zack came back to Toronto and joined Alignvest where he worked with a number of small business owners to evaluate value creation opportunities including portfolio restructuring and the sale of their businesses.
Zack has an MBA from Harvard Business School (Distinction) and a B.Com from McGill University. He lives in Toronto with his wife, Torey.

+ David Mindell
Mr. Mindell is President of Western Corporate Enterprises Inc., a private investment company. Through WCE and other private companies, Mr. Mindell has investments in real estate development in both Canada and the US, quick service restaurants, book distribution and agricultural businesses. Prior to this, he was the founder of Bootlegger Jeans, a large chain of fashion retail stores, and owner of food manufacturing and sporting goods distribution companies. Mr. Mindell is a Director of A&W Food Services Ltd.
+ George Rossolatos
Mr. Rossolatos is the CEO of Avante Logixx Inc. (TSXV:XX), joining in 2010 as an investor and operator with a mandate to determine the company's strategic direction and vision and execute the go forward plan which included an operational turnaround. Since joining Avante, the company has grown significantly, turned to profitability, and has seen its enterprise value more than quadruple. He has since implemented an acquisition strategy for Avante that has resulted in three successful strategic acquisitions. Mr. Rossolatos is the Founder and President of Riverdale Capital Corporation, a private investment and advisory company he created in 2009 and formerly was a partner and co-founder of private equity fund TorQuest Partners Inc. where he had been since its inception in early 2002 until 2010. Prior to TorQuest, Mr. Rossolatos was an investment principal at Harrowston Inc., a publicly traded merchant bank. Prior to Harrowston, he worked with Ernst & Young LLP, managing a group focused on middle market companies.
Mr. Rossolatos is a CPA, holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a B.Com. (Honours) from Queen’s University. He was recognized in 2007 as one of Canada's Top 40 under 40 and he is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and a past member of the Entrepreneurs' Organization. He serves on the Board of Directors of Avante Logixx and Si Systems Limited and has served as a Director on a number of other corporate boards including GCAN Insurance Company and CNC Global Limited.
+ James M. Sharpe
At Harvard Business School, Jim is an Entrepreneur in Residence concentrating in the area of turnarounds, entrepreneurship and running small businesses. He has taught entrepreneurship, turnarounds, launching new ventures and running small and medium size enterprises. His interests are in the areas of business acquisitions, manufacturing, B2B niche marketing, pricing, leadership, family balance, large/small company differences, ethics, exit strategies and employee empowerment. Jim sold his company, Extrusion Technology, to a private equity firm in December 2008. He had purchased the aluminum extrusion fabricator in 1987 after an 11 month unfunded search and grew it from $4 million to $32 million, developing a value-added products niche in the Datacomm/Telecom electronics markets and a supplemental factory in Xiamen, China. After taking on substantial debt, Jim transformed the second generation, family-owned business. A focus on quality led to early qualification for ISO-9000 in 1992 and emphasis on lead time reduction and lean manufacturing techniques resulted in a Bronze Shingo award in 2008.
Jim has a BS degree from Babson College and after graduating from Harvard Business School in 1976, joined General Electric and moved on to Product General Manager positions within the GE materials businesses. After 5 years, he left GE to run 3 turn-around situations which prepared him to strike off on his own in 1987.
+ Todd Worsley
Mr. Worsley is the President of Sky Energy Group, a private investment firm based in Calgary, Alberta. Prior to this, he was Principal at Argos Capital Corporation. Mr. Worsley has held several positions at CIBC including Managing Director and Head of Alternative Asset Management, Co-Head of Merchant Banking, Executive Director, Mergers & Acquisitions and Research Associate at CIBC Wood Gundy.
Mr. Worsley has expertise in a wide variety of both public and private investment strategies including extensive experience in direct private equity investments, private equity funds, mezzanine debt, mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance. He has investment and advisory experience across a broad range of industries in Canada, the United States and internationally. Mr. Worsley has served on the board of a number of companies including Wave Apps, GCAN Insurance, Persona Communications Inc., A&W Food Services Inc. and OSF Inc.
Mr. Worsley holds a B. Comm. (Hons.) from Queen’s University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
+ Buster Shier
Buster joined Northmont in 2016. Previously, Buster worked in the Global Asset Management division of RBC and completed internships at RBC Dominion Securities and Acasta Capital, a boutique merchant bank in Toronto. Through these experiences, Buster had developed a strong understanding of investing in both public and private markets from a variety of stakeholder perspectives.
Buster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and is currently a CFA Level III candidate. Buster enjoys playing competitive tennis, fishing and reading.
+ Kevin Tan
Kevin joined Northmont in 2017. Previously, Kevin worked at boutique investment bank Kerburn Rose in New York and as an equity research summer associate at Sinolink Securities in Shanghai, China. Through these experiences, Kevin has developed a strong understanding of analyzing investment opportunities through both qualitative research and financial modeling.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from Richard Ivey School of Business and Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario. Upon graduation, he received the Economics Core Course Award. Kevin is pursuing his CFA designation and is a level II candidate.
+ Christopher Tuszynski
Christopher joined Northmont in 2017. Previously, Christopher held internships in the private equity division of the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and the corporate development division of the Home Capital Group, a real estate focused financial institution in Toronto. Through his experiences, Christopher has developed a strong understanding of financial analysis in both private and public markets.
Christopher has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Economics from Queen’s University (Distinction) and is currently a CFA level I candidate. Christopher is a passionate soccer fan and enjoys both cooking and dining in his spare time.
